While learning about La Jolla real estate, prospective residents are quite pleased with the area’s prime educational opportunities. The University of California, San Diego (UCSD), which includes the Scripps Institution of Oceanography and the San Diego Supercomputer Center, is the hub of higher education in La Jolla. There are also several research institutes near the University of California, San Diego, as well as in the nearby Torrey Pines Science Park. The research institutes include the Scripps Research Institute, the Burnham Institute (formerly called the La Jolla Cancer Research Foundation) and the Salk Institute.
Prep schools in La Jolla include La Jolla Country Day School, The Bishop’s School, and The Preuss School UCSD. La Jolla elementary schools are the Integral Elementary School of La Jolla, Delphi Academy, All Hallows Academy, Evans, Torrey Pines Elementary, and La Jolla Elementary. The area high school, La Jolla High School, is located directly within the San Diego City Schools district.
